  • Entry To: Air Force Academy (AFA) , Dundigal , Hyderabad

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY

a) Nationality & Marital Status
i. The candidate should be a citizen of India as per the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955.
ii. Candidates must be unmarried during the course commencement, and marriage isprohibited during training.
iii. Anyone who marries during the training period shall be discharged and liable to refundall expenses incurred by the Government.

Age Limit

  • For Flying Branch
    Age Limit for Flying Branch will be between 20 to 24 years
    However, there will be a relaxation in the upper age limit of up to 24 years for aspirantsholding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India).
  • For Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch
    Age Limit for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch will be between 20 to26 years as of 01 January 2026.

Educational Qualifications

  • For Flying Branch
    Passed with at least 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at the 10+2 level andGraduation in any discipline from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marksor equivalent. OR
    BE/B Tech degree (Four-year course) from a recognised University with at least 60%marks or equivalent OR
    Passed Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution ofEngineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with atleast 60% marks or equivalent

For Ground Duty ( Technical & Non-Technical ) Branch

i. For Ground Duty (Technical), candidates must hold an Engineering or Technologydegree from a recognized university.
ii. For Ground Duty (Non-Technical), candidates must hold a graduation degree in anydiscipline with a minimum of 60% marks.

Physical Standards - Height & Weight

  • For male candidates, the minimum acceptable height will be 5 cm less (152.5 cm) forGorkhas and individuals from the North-Eastern regions of India and the hilly regionsof Uttarakhand.
    In the case of aspirants from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cm (155.5 cm).
  • For female candidates, the lower minimum height of 147 cm will be accepted forcandidates from the North East region or the hilly regions of Uttarakhand.
    In the case of aspirants from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height will be 150 cm

SSB INTERVIEW Stage -II

The SSB Interview is a 5-day selection process conducted by the Indian Armed Forces tochoose candidates with Officer-Like Qualities (OLQs). It tests your personality, intelligence, leadership, teamwork, communication skills, and mental strength.

Medical Examination

After clearing the SSB Interview, candidates undergo a comprehensive medical examination conducted by the Armed Forces Medical Board. This ensures that candidates are physically and mentally fit to join the Armed Forces.

Training After Clearing AFCAT Exam

After clearing the AFCAT, candidates undergo pre-commissioning training at the AirForce Academy (AFA) in Dundigal, Hyderabad, which varies in length depending on thebranch:
For flying and technical branches – 74 weeks
For non-technical branches – 52 weeks
During the training period at Air Force Academy , Gentleman/Lady Cadets receive a fixedstipend of ₹56,100 per month .

Psychological Assessment Test

As part of the Military Nursing Service (MNS) selection process, candidates will
undergo a stage called the Psychological Assessment Test (PAT). This occurs beforeyour panel interview and acts as an important filtering step in the selection process.

After successfully clearing the Computer-Based Test (CBT) and the PsychologicalAssessment Test (PAT), the next crucial stage in the MNS selection process is the PanelInterview. This phase plays a key role in evaluating a candidate’s overall proficiency,personality, and suitability for the Military Nursing Services.
To perform well, it’s important for candidates to be familiar with the types of questionstypically asked.
The MNS Panel Interview usually covers:
Personal and Family Background : Understanding your upbringing, values, andsupport system.
Academic Experience : Exploring your education and how it has prepared you for acareer in military nursing.
Military Nursing Context : Assessing your knowledge of and attitude toward theMNS.
Indian Armed Forces : Basic awareness about the structure, values, and functioning of the Indian Armed Forces.

Medical Examination

After the interview, the recommended candidates will appear for medical examinationbefore a Special Medical Board (SMB). Candidates declared FIT/UNFIT will beinformed by the President of the Medical board including the procedure of requesting forAPPEAL/REVIEW MEDICAL BOARD.

Final Merit List

Once the all candidates are done with all tests & medical review , a final merit list isdeclared for 220 Candidates , who will be intimated via e-mail & message to join theirselected college with all joining instructions
