The Rashtriya Military Schools are Category ‘A’ Army establishments, administered by theDirectorate General of Military Training (DGMT) at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry ofDefence (Army). Their apex governing body is the Central Governing Council (CGC), headed by theDefence Secretary, Ministry of Defence, ensuring high standards in defence-oriented education.

Why to join Rashtriya Military Schools ?

Reservation Of Seats

(a) 70% for wards of JCOs/OR of Army , Navy and AF ( including Exservicemen).
(b) 30% for wards of Officers of Army, Navy and AF (including retired Officers) and wards of civilians.

(c) 50 seats are reserved for wards of service personnel Killed in Action. Note: 15% and 7.5% seats arereserved for SC and ST in all categories.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY

  • Educational Qualification: For admission to Class VI, the candidates must have passed Class Vor be studying in Class V and pass it before that date of admission to Rashtriya Military School.
    For admission in Class IX, the candidate must have passed Class VIII from a government /
    recognized school before the date of admission to Rashtriya Military School. Candidates shouldalso preferably have knowledge of English which is the medium of instruction in RashtriyaMilitary Schools.
  • Age: Boys & Girls aged between 10-12 years as on 31st March for admission in Class VI andaged between 13-15 years as on 31st March for admission in Class IX. Six months relaxation inupper age limit is permissible for wards of personnel killed in Action.

Interview- Those candidates who qualify in the written test will be short-listed according toNumber of vacancies and will be called for the interview at one of the Rashtriya Military Schools.Marks of the interview will be added to the score of the written test before deciding the final merit.

Final Result- Based upon the cumulative marks in written exam and interview, category wise finalmerit list will be prepared and hosted on NIELIT website. Candidates can use their logincredentials to check their marks. No separate intimation will be sent to unsuccessful candidates.

Final Selection- Candidates selected in order of merit on the basis of total marks scored by them inthe admission test and the interview will be admitted to different Rashtriya Military Qualifiedcandidates will be allotted school purely on the basis of Merit and vacancy available in school

Medical Fitness-All the candidates will be required to undergo medical fitness examination beforeadmission to the Rashtriya Military Schools.
